The Dog Trot is a 5K and .5 Mile Run, Walk to be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at John Hunt Park Cross Country Course in Huntsville, Alabama  (2151 Airport Road).  Proceeds to benefit Greater Huntsville Humane Society and Therapy Partners, Inc., a non-profit whose teams of therapy animals visit local schools, hospice, hospitals, rehab centers, and assisted living facilities.   The 5K is for people only. The Half Mile is for people to walk with their dog.  (See rules for dogs)

Cost:   $15   (Without T-Shirt);     $20    (With T-Shirt or after July 18).

PREREGISTRATION CLOSES  WEDNESDAY, JULY 18  (postmarked by that date).  

Start times:  
7:30 a.m.   5K
8:30 a.m.  1/2 Mile-Large Dogs (over 50 lbs)
8:40 a.m.  1/2 Mile-Medium Dogs (21-50 lbs)
8:50 a.m.- 1/2 Mile-Small Dogs (under 20 lb)

Packet PickUP: 5K runners/walkers may pick up their race packets at First Place Athletics, 805 Regal Drive, Huntsville, between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the day before the race or pick up at check in the morning of the race at the XC Course.  Forms will be available at First Place to register or print form from this website.   If you can't pick up packet day before race  then check in 20 minutes before your event at XC Course on race day to pick up your packet.    


Race Day Registration: Starts at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 7:10 a.m. at XC Course.  Please pre-register if possible.  (Use Application Form).  The 5K  will start at 7:30 a.m.


Awards Ceremony: 9:00 a.m.  Awards in 5K given to top 3 runners in 13 age divisions to both male and female winners.  Awards given to Overall and to Overall Master's. 

Water to be provided at finish and approximate halfway point for humans and at various points for dogs.
